"We had a fantastic 5 day stay at Mountain Aire. We desired a peaceful, secluded mountain getaway and could not have been happier with our choice!" --- James B (Feb 2022)

**Mountain Air** is a 1 bedroom & 2 bath cabin that offers a secluded getaway from the hustle, bustle and bright lights of the attractions areas and puts you into the mountains. We are very private with no other cabins in sight!

Mountain Air is a great way to disconnect, while still having some connectivity.

You will not be disappointed!
Check out our collection of great reviews and photos.

Mountain Air is priced for 2 people. Additional persons, regardless of age, are $20/night per person up to our maximum capacity of 6 people.

⏤ What we provide ⏤

We provide linens, comforters, and towels.

The kitchen is equipped with dishware, pots, pans, utensils, flatware, glasses (tumblers and win glasses), cups, servingware, and more.

We also provide a starter set of supplies. This is not intended to last your entire stay, but is just to get you started. These include:

- 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom
- 1 cleansing bar per bathroom
- 1 travel size shampoo per bathroom
- 1 roll of paper towels
- 1 dish sponge
- 2 dishwasher tabs
- 1 small bottle of liquid dish soap
- 1 single use laundry detergent (stays of 7+ nights only)
- 2 trash bags per trash can

We don't provide wood for the fire pit. It can be purchased in bundles at many locations throughout the area. Do not cut down our trees or break off branches, though feel free to use anything already on the ground.

Let's not forget the Great Smoky Mountain National Park with its hiking trails, picnic areas, swimming holes, waterfalls, diverse wildlife, outstanding vistas, and beautiful scenery.

⏤ Your Safety & Well-Being is Important to Us ⏤

We believe in providing a comfortable and safe environment for our guests.

Our housekeeping partner has always had a strict cleaning regimen that is performed after every guest stay. That is designed to increase protections for both our guests and our team members.

♨️ Hot Tub_: Drained, cleaned/sanitized, and refilled after every guest; fresh Bromine added.

🧺 Linens: laundered and processed in temperatures that exceed those recommended for laundry operations; disinfectant added if appropriate; dried at temperatures needed for sanitization; and, packaged until put out for guests.

We have installed smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, and a fire extinguisher.

⏤ Road Conditions ⏤

The private road to the cabin is only partially paved, with most of it being gravel and dirt. There are some places where the grade could be considered a bit steep. During the wet seasons, potholes and ruts can develop. It is a privately-owned road we have no control over.

Low-riding vehicles, trailers, and motorcycles are not suitable for the private roadway. During winter months, it is best to have AWD, 4WD, or chains just to be safe. You should view a video of the drive (after turning off main road) on by searching the Internet for "#mountainair37862". Past guests have said the video was very helpful.

Our driveway is a mix of gravel and dirt, but is well-maintained. We have parking for 2-3 vehicles, depending on size.

Please remember you will be staying in the mountains and mountain roads can be tough at times. We can not and do not guarantee any road surface conditions, especially during Winter. Most public roads are well maintained but can be winding, steep, and/or bumpy. It is not unusual to have some washed out areas or downed trees, especially after rain/snow or high winds. You are responsible for your own transportation. We cannot provide any transportation for guests. Weather conditions can be very unpredictable, and it is your responsibility to come fully prepared. We do not refund due to weather, road conditions, or the location of the property on the mountain.

⏤ Wifi, Phone, & TV Services ⏤

Cellular signals are generally weak at the cabin. We have added a signal booster indoors, near the kitchen, but results can vary.

We offer DishTV, a house phone, and basic 6mbps Internet w/Wifi (speeds cannot be guaranteed and are not be suitable for streaming TV/video). Weather or other issues can affect their operation and performance.

⏤ Booking Mountain Air ⏤

The booking guest must review and sign our Rental Agreement, a sample of which is available. This agreement must be digitally signed and returned to us **within 24 hours of booking**.

A copy of the signer's government-issued ID must also be submitted.

A list of all guests (names and ages) in the party is required.

Each booking includes our own Accidental Damage coverage, so it is not necessary no to buy your own.

There is a refundable security deposit of $300 to cover any non-accidental damages or costs. This is done as a "hold" on the credit card and is initiated a few days before your arrival.  toIt is released after your departure and our team's inspection.

We ****STRONGLY**** recommend you consider obtaining Travel Insurance for your trip, especially if your stay is during winter months, or if you are concerned about possible cancellation due to the pandemic, government policies, or other reasons. You will be presented with an opportunity to purchase a standard policy or a CFAR (cancel for any reason) policy as a convenience to our guests offered by our service provider -- not by us. You can also acquire coverage from many online sources, but make sure you are clear on what they do and do not cover.

Be sure to read and understand our cancellation policy. We will not be responsible for any cancellations outside of our policy - that is what Travel Insurance is for.

All cancellations are subject to a minimum cancellation fee of 3%.

⏤ Special Note ⏤

We have found that guests are better prepared and enjoy their stay more when they have read the entire listing. To verify, please include the phrase "BLACK BEARS" somewhere in your booking and/or inquiry.

We are simply a retired husband and wife with extensive business and customer service experience. We opted to put that to good use and offer homes for short-term stays. Our excellent reviews and high ratings says it all. Retired from a long and rewarding career in technology, government, and executive management involving significant domestic and International travel (Chuck). Retired with extensive customer service and hospitality experience and skills as a former Disney cast member (Vicki). Together, we decided to become hosts and manage our own short-term rental. Our first venture was in Gatlinburg, Tennessee - gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It was a success. We added a few more in the same area and created 'Our Smoky Mountain Rentals' to handle the listings. Then we decided to add a beach property and settled on Destin, FL area! Not long after we were able to offer a handful of listings in Destin and Miramar Beach as 'Silver Sands Rentals'. We have since consolidated all of our listings under our new brand, 'Remarkable Vacation Rentals'. We have enjoyed every moment of our hosting journey. The delight that comes with knowing that a group of friends, or a family, has made lasting memories in one of our homes is always a thrill, no matter how often it happens. Our guests write such wonder reviews and messages to us describing their experiences and how much they enjoyed their stays. As a result, we get a lot of repeat guests too! Look over our listings and join the hundreds of families and groups who have called one of our Remarkable Vacation Rentals "home" for their visit.
